The Educational Foundation of America (EFA) evolved from the vision of Richard P. Ettinger. Article Fifth of his will encourages a moral sensitivity to the act of giving and need for giving. In his words, "... I pass to my children and their issue a heritage more important than wealth measured in dollars - the opportunity to be involved in and to strengthen and keep alive a family philanthropic enterprise. I urge my children and their issue to make substantial contributions to the Foundation - financially and by active and thoughtful participation in its good works."
In keeping with the legacy of Richard P. Ettinger, The Educational Foundation of America exists as an advocate for progressive change in our society. The Foundation's Board and Adjunct Committee members have been provided with the flexibility to address the pressing issues of their times by the founders.
